All nickel mined and smelted in Greece is mined and smelted by LARCO. Globally, Greece accounts for 12% of the $1.4 billion industry. In Europe, LARCO is responsible for 52% of the €320 million nickel produced and exported.

The unique benefit of our nickel - over that of our competitors - is its highly prized virtually carbon-free content. This makes it especially sought-after by the stainless steel industry who use it to act as a coolant in the AOD converter – a main step of the production process – thus optimising the blowing cycle and increasing productivity.

The presence of cobalt in our nickel also makes the end product stainless steel stronger, less prone to metal fatigue and fractures.

The company maintains System of Quality Management and is certified for the metallurgic activities of ferronickel production based on model EN ISO 9001:2000 from the Greek Standardization Organization ELOT. It is soon expected to get certification on her mining activities.
