LARCO is the largest ferronickel producer in Europe and one the 5 largest ferronickel producers in the world. LARCO is engaged in the exploration, development, mining, smelting and marketing of its products globally.

Based in Greece, LARCO is regarded as one of the most reliable ferronickel producers in the international market, due to its long history of excellence. It has been operating continuously since 1966, trusted by its customers for its high standards of product quality, product availability and dependability of service.

LARCO has a long history of innovation. In 1976, they were the first company to introduce granulated ferronickel in the market, making it perfect for precision control in feeding to arc furnaces and converters. A few competitors followed within a couple of years and today 70 - 80% of internationally produced ferronickel is granulated.

Most major stainless steel manufacturers – such as ThyssenKrupp Nirosta, Outokumpu OY & AB, ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni, Acerinox and Arcelor - use LARCO's granulated ferronickel. Its unique benefit is that it is virtually carbon-free. This makes it especially sought-after by the stainless steel industry who use it to act as a coolant in the AOD converter, optimising the blowing cycle and increasing productivity. The presence of colbolt in LARCO’s ferronickel also makes the end product stainless steel stronger, less prone to metal fatigue and fractures.
