The Inside View of Kostas Maglaras, Director of Geology and Mine Research

From the beginning of the 70’s till today I have been part of a vibrant organization called Larco. I have been in the position of research and exploration and the only impression I am left now with is satisfaction and confidence for the future.

We traveled a long path in order to reach our destination in which we confronted obstacles and smoothness.  Overcoming those barriers made us proud.

In the course of time, the total process of research of new mine sites became a pleasant obsession.

Our desire to achieve the best possible outcome lead us to an expansion of mines , to a proliferation of news and to a wonderful journey to interesting areas on order to satisfy our personal and professional aspirations. The exploitation of an ore, that has been discovered and studied by a geologist, is the most satisfying and enduring part.

We have set high goals and being methodical and persistent, we achieved excellence and faithfulness in our research.

Our trips extended to all European directions, to the East and to transatlantic destinations such as the remote areas of Brazil.

In the future, we aim to get farer.

Our collaboration with other countries, regarding new imported ore, has strengthened even more the company’s position in the international market.

The experience we have gained these 35 years of research is a guide for our new colleagues Passion and vision for the company are essential ingredients of the personality and professional make up of any new person joining the company.   This is necessary to maintain the wonderful pace, which sometimes can lead to the most remote parts of the world.
